The Yama King Dark Orange – Medaka Rice Fish is one of the few fish suitable for mini ponds in various climates. These robust fish can withstand temperatures from -5 to 35 degrees (when mature). These colorful fish with koi carp colors are surface swimmers and require only 10cm deep water. They are very curious and easy to lure with some hand-fed food.

They can be combined with other types of companion fish and shrimp (even young shrimp are left alone) due to their tiny mouth and Medaka’s tendency to inhabit the top layer of water. They do not exhibit aggression or territorial behavior towards other species.
